Owner is very friendly. Hiker friendly. Had to go to ER. Owner drove me there. Rooms are very clean. Has everything you need. Price is good too.

Nicest motel owner you will meet on the whole AT. Also possibly the most comfortable bed too. Very accommodating and picks you up at the trail. Very clean room and friendly environment.

Nice friendly couple. $149/night. Laundry $5/load. Rides $3 mile. Tiny showers. Thin walls.

Nothing special but as an Appalachian trail hiker with a pup in tow manager was super courteous and helped me find anything I needed locally. Did my laundry in no time at all, room was clean. Happy camper here

The owners of this place are Amazing!!! They are so friendly, truly great people! Cute rooms, love that each room has a good sized mini fridge and microwave! Quiet, peaceful, clean place to stay. Can't wait until next year when I am in town, this is where we will be staying! :)

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hitching Post Country Motel for 2 nights last weekend while visiting the town of Kent. Our motel room was perfect for the two of us, as we were out for most of the day and returned in the evenings. It was delightful meeting Mrs. and Mr. Patel, who were very friendly and helpful. They worked with us to rectify a booking error made by Expedia (we were given a Queen-sized bed instead of a King). The Patels even gifted us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience, which we certainly did not expect. Mr Patel was a genuinely, respectful, and caring person taking care of our stay and asking for anything else we need. The motel is very center in the town convenience to local attractions as well nearby towns. My girlfriend and I are planning to stay there again in the Fall. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

If you're hiking on the AT this is a great place to stay; beds are comfy, rooms are clean and smell nice. Owner is very nice, accommodating, friendly. People have complained about the shower and space of rooms; everything works just fine and I had a great stay.

We were backpacking through Connecticut on the Mohawk Trail, from the Appalachian Trail, and this nice little motel was right on the way. We saw good reviews on line, and decided to give it a shot. The owner was very friendly and hospitable, the rooms clean and comfortable. They are very helpful to hikers and appreciate what we do. He was gracious enough to help me with parking for a week, and he gave me a beer as we discussed my trip. A very nice experience!

I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotel and motels, this place was small and personal they pay attention to the details and go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The husband and wife that run the Hitching Post are truly wonderful. I couldn't have asked for nicer people.It's a small locally owned business that appreciates their customers. I recommend the Hitching post if you're in the area you need a place to stay this place is it. And make sure you tell them that John sent you. 👍

This hotel worked perfectly for our slack packing trip on the AT through Connecticut. The room was cleaned every day with a restock of fresh towels and supplies. The location allowed us to use one shuttle driver south to reach the trail …
